PrintedEdges 2026 Updates: Built for Speed, Scale, and Creative Freedom
As we step into 2026, we’re excited to share one of the most significant updates in PrintedEdges’ journey so far. This release isn’t just about new features—it’s about preparing the platform for the future as our community continues to grow faster than we ever imagined.
Over the past few months, we’ve listened closely to your feedback, analyzed how authors use PrintedEdges in real workflows, and rebuilt key parts of the system to better support you.
Here’s what’s new.
⸻
A Stronger Foundation: Backend Restructuring
We’ve completed a major backend overhaul focused on performance, reliability, and scale.
This update brings: - Faster edge generation and previews - Increased capacity for large projects and multi-book workflows - Improved system monitoring to quickly identify and resolve issues
This foundation allows us to continue expanding features without sacrificing speed or reliability—and it unlocks a wave of UX improvements coming next.
⸻
Officially Recommended by Vellum
We’re honored to share that PrintedEdges is now recommended directly by the Vellum team as an edge provider.
This collaboration opens the door to upcoming Vellum-specific enhancements designed to make the transition from formatting to finished edges even faster and smoother.
⸻
Powerful New Features for Authors
Multi-Book Generation Apply edge artwork across your entire catalog in one step. This is ideal for series, boxed sets, and shared branding across your designs.
Edge Previewer Performance Mode Switch to Performance Mode while configuring your book for faster responsiveness. When you’re ready to create marketing materials, toggle back to high-resolution mode with enhanced lighting, reflections, and visual effects.
In our upcoming updates you will see even more speed optimizations to the 3D previewer as well as some new marketing material options to help you share your designs with your readers.
⸻
Expanded Cover Design Options
PrintedEdges now supports advanced cover visualization tools: • Foiled covers for metallic accents and premium finishes • Embossing/Debossing previews to visualize raised and embedded textures before print
These additions help you confidently design books that stand out on shelves and online listings.

Thank You for Being Part of This
The PrintedEdges community grew more than 3× during November and December alone—and that growth is entirely thanks to you. You all generated more books in December than all of 2025!
Tag us on social media, send photos of your printed edges, and let us know what features you’d like to see next. Many of the tools in our update exist simply because authors asked for them.
